Description

Jackpot is a challenging treed run for expert skiers at the far end of the Gent's Ridge traverse.

With many different variations, entrances and exits, this run is up to the interpretation of the skier.

Starting from the far skier's left in a group of pine trees, the snow tends to be a little thinner, so make your first few turns with caution.

As the trees begin to widen, stay skier's left and head into the fast and chalky west facing moguls.

As the Silver Queen gondola comes into view overhead, pump the breaks in anticipation for a series of cat tracks that can be aired, or skilfully absorbed.

Stay in the bumps here and find your exit to the bottom by Kleenex Corner.

Remember to watch out for uphill skiers here as collisions could be very serious.

Another variation to this line is to start further skiers right, closer to the rope line and area boundary.

The further right you ski, the small the moguls but in general, the less snow coverage.

Work your way down using the well spaced trees as gates.

Continue down the fall line until you spot another very bumpy exit toward "Kleenex Corner." The middle line is generally the one with the largest, most demanding moguls top to bottom.

The entrance is obvious, because you will usually spot a ground of skiers here waiting to drop in.

Jackpot is a very wide run, but taking the center line should align you with the same very straight forward exit as the skiers left line.

You'll also ski free of trees in this line, however you'll be subject to the fullness of the VW sized moguls, the steepness of the fall line, and the full demand of the run here.
