Description

This a secret spot on good and bad days in Hochfügen! It's empty on beautiful sunny days and there is always some nice snow, even when there are windy and foggy conditions.

You can easily spend a whole day here, because getting back to the starting point only requires a five minute lift with the Pfaffenbühel T-Bar.

When you are coming from the valley, you just need to take the 8er Jet and follow piste number 10 until you reach the top station of the Pfaffenbühel T-Bar.

On the west of the station there is a flat part, with a freeride checkpoint, which is really useful to check your safety equipment.

There are also some resort maps.

The easiest way is to drop into the slope right behind the freeride checkpoint signs, there is a wide slope in front of you, nice for wide turns, but not extremely steep.

After about 300 metres it gets flatter and a slope on the left side appears.

Go straight ahead here, straight into the woods, then it gets steeper again and there are more bushes and small trees appearing, completing this nice tree run.

For the last 30 metres, the hill gets really steep, so keep an eye on your line to end up at piste number 14, falling too far down onto the flats could hurt! Now you just need to follow the piste for about 100metres back to the T-Bar bottom station. As described in the beginning, on a day with bad weather or avalanche safety conditions this is THE run in Hochfügen.
