Description

This run is like one you see in ski movies where the riders playfully hit every feature under a chair lift and there is a crowd of people watching as they tear it up.

Sometimes it's nice to have the peace and quiet of the backcountry but this route is really worth doing.

Another one for the disgruntled freestylers after a snowfall.

Instead of moping about the closure of the snowpark, hit this run and enjoy the natural features.

In a mixed ability group, this run can be taken chill by the less confident skiers and boarders, just be aware it can be pretty narrow in parts, no space for big sweeping turns apart from at the top.

Once you head into the trees directly under the chair, you have to be a little technical.

For the more advanced riders, this route is a far more fun way of getting to the bottom that that boring piste! Okay so as you disembark the Leisse chair, turn immediately back on yourself on the right.

You then have 2 red runs that are mainly race pistes, but between them is a patch of land where you begin your descent.

Then you will see an opening in the trees on your right where the chairlift exits.

This is the opening in which you enter the route down.

There are plenty of rocks and small drops to enjoy.

You have to negotiate a few avalanche breakers as you first enter, otherwise, it's a really fast run.

After around 200m there is a flat section next to a small snow covered building, so be sure to keep your speed and glide right across.

After that flat section, you will re-enter the trees, still remaining directly under the chair.

Then there is a jump of around 3 m to pop off on your right and a small stream 50m ahead to jump.

You then head out onto the piste and re-enter the route again on your left next to the really narrow red run marked as "R" on the map.

Here you can choose to remain on the piste or exit and continue under the chair.

This bit is really technical.

You have to negotiate narrow steep sections, the very small stream but mixed in with jumps and outcropped rocks.

Fun for an advanced rider.

Then you will rejoin again the very narrow red run and continue for the final 60m to the bottom of the chair.

No climbing equipment required, only the standard avalanche safety hear.
