Description

The Money trail flows smoothly into Sanitarium, offering an excellent alternative ending to the main black diamond line (Cowboy Up -> Holy Diver -> TNT -> Paid in Full -> Wild Thing) down the mountain, but these two sections of trail are quite different.

Money is one of the smoothest jump lines in the Keystone Bike Park—these tabletops are money! But Sanitarium is totally different.

Here, you’ll find extremely steep, blown out double black diamond singletrack, and in the middle of the run, Keystone’s most photogenic feature: a massive wooden corkscrew bridge! At its tallest point, this bridge is about 30 feet off the ground.

While the sign labels the feature as a triple black diamond (there’s a ride around available), the only reason it’s rated so difficult is for the fall danger off the bridge.

Falling off the upper portion of the bridge will lead to serious injury, or worse.

However, if you stay on the bridge, it’s not nearly that difficult… but it still isn’t easy, either.

The final twist in the corkscrew gets narrower and narrower and can be a bit tricky to nail. If you’re looking for an entertaining alternate run ending or an epic photo stop, be sure to hit Sanitarium!
