Description

This is one of the largest gladed tree areas at Deer Valley.

Enter from the left side of Tycoon or right side of Reward after the two trails split.

Reward goes north and Tycoon east, leaving an ever widening forest of mostly aspen trees at the top to pines at the bottom.

This is the triangle.

The top section is the flattest.

Going right leads to dense scrub oaks and east facing snow that needs very deep cover to be skiable.

When the snow is deep there is an excellent line leading from a rocky knoll east through an opening in the oaks to Tycoon below.

Most skiers stay left of the oaks where the run is wider and more predictably gladed.

After the first couple hundred yards, the run gets steeper.

Going right is mellower, but with denser tree cover.

After the steep section, Triangle Trees mellows and enters scattered pines, leading to a dark evergreen forest.

Spacing is excellent and the slope low angle, allowing skiers to open it up a bit.

Watch out for the exit.

Triangle Trees dumps out onto Sultan Connector, a green cat track.

After entering the pine forest, start looking for the groomed cat track and a rope line.

Dropping below the rope line will likely result in an extended search and rescue effort.

STAY IN BOUNDS, and go right to get back to Sultan Express.
