Description

Scotty's Bowl is a great 2,000 foot north facing slope that holds good snow long after a storm.

To access this run, park at the White Pine trailhead and head across the bridge to the trail.

The trail cuts right across the base of the run so you can look up it and scope your exit.

Continue following the trail up into the White Pine Drainage through the switchbacks.

Once the trail flattens back out you can cut left into the trees and work your way to the top of the run by staying on the ridge.

It's one of the quickest and most direct runs on the north side of Little Cottonwood Canyon.

It is a large avalanche path that needs proper timing and respect when skiing.

Snowbird opens their gates to this run on occasion so it can get skied out by the side country skiers.

The upper slopes are steep and it maintains a nice pitch for the entire length of the run.

There are lots of little trees and branches that can make it tricky in lower snow conditions.
