Description

The Great One is probably the most popular line in the whole of Northern Bridgers.

It is the very aesthetic line that goes from the top of Naya Nuki peak, seen from Fairy Lake Road.

This line can be skied well into the summer time.

It is a wide open chute that stays consistently 50 feet wide.

The top 300 feet is around 40 degrees, depending on snow levels.

This line is really two separate 400 feet chutes, broken up by an off angle snowfield in the middle.

The upper part of the line sees much more sun than the lower half so be cautious of changing snow conditions as you head down the second part.

During the winter months, The Great One receives a lot of wind loading, drifting, and sloughing.

Be very sure of your snow assessment and watch out for changing conditions as you descend.

To get to Naya Nuki, park at the Fairy Lake trailhead, about 1.5 miles from the highway.

Head up the (closed in winter) Fairy Lake Road and take the summer trail to Sacajawea.

Naya Nuki is the next peak South of Sac.

Once down, trend left, making your way to Fairy Lake and back to the road.
