Description

Some would say this route is up there with other Val classics and it definitely provides some some good steeper tree skiing, but in the wrong conditions it can be dangerous and route finding is a bit more involved than the neighboring Lavancher couloir.

Start from the left as for Lavancher couloir - being careful at the start skiers right of the avalanche barriers.

When you get to the flatter section, turn a short cliff on either on the left (preferable and safer) or on the right where you need to have excellent control to avoid finishing down the steep cliffs on the right.

You can ski in the larch trees further skiers right or down the gully to the left, but a couple of hundred metres down the gully you will need to head back right to avoid a small rock face below.

There are some ever-green trees that you should stay above.

Find your way down to a wide path and head down to the valley and the bus stop.
