Description

To skier’s left of Main Street is a series of couloirs known as the K Chutes.

K5 is the first, and longest, of these.

K5 is one of the steepest, tightest runs in Taos Ski Valley.

Before the building of the lift, it stayed flat all season, making it one of the fastest chutes as well.

The bumps have slowed it down a lot, but it is still a breathtaking descent.

And if it’s buried under 18 inches of fresh snow, get on it.

For the most part, it’s straight, but there are choices through various rock formations.

Expect gawkers from Chair 4.
