Description

At Bormio 3000, you enter a moonscape which is simultaneously very eerie and very beautiful.

Right at the top, all to be seen is loose shards of rock and surrounding dalmatian patterned mountain tops with white patches of snow on dark brownish, almost black mountains.

The Giro Del Vallecetta begins with an intensely steep and very technically demanding track following S541 to Bei Laghetti and Bocca di Profa.

Every kind of rock challenge awaits you, and the track is very narrow a lot of the way down.

From Bocca di Profa take the path S518 which leads you steeply down through greener pastures and into a forest.

Eventually, you will hit the dirt road to Monti di Sobretta from where you take the S53.2 to Fontanalonga and on to Bormio 2000.

If you want more, try this trail from Bormio 2000 down to Bormio: Bormio 2000 – Monti di Sobretta – Bormio.
