Woolsey Woods is gained by hopping on the Casper Traverse (aka Mr.
Toad’s Wild Ride) from the Bridger Gondola.
It is possible to drop into the woods from any point on the Traverse, but there are few things to consider before you take the plunge.
First, the easiest skiing is the skier’s righthand side.
There are quite a few narrow channels enticing skiers early on the traverse and these are fun and will place you onto Sundance eventually.
Venture a hounded feet further into the woods and the trees will become thicker but still manageable (from here you will end up on Amphitheater Traverse).
The skier’s lefthand side of Woolsey Woods begins as tight trees, but opens up into two distinct zones of completely expert cliff areas! These areas will not be marked until you are right on top of them.
For both zones, there are ways around or down the cliff areas, but it will be a double black diamond experience.
Woolsey Woods has many intricacies that will only be learned through experience.
