Description

This is one of the two main off-piste lines down from the infamous mountain Roßkirpl. The hike is not as long as the one to the top of mountain.

Compared with the difficulty and level of danger the other line down from Roßkirpl it is more challenging.

It is more rocky and more like an couloir than an open field.

Check it out from the chair if the line looks better or more challenging than the regular one from the top.

If you are looking for a more advanced one, this could be your choice.

The walk up to the beginning of the line depends on your personal fitness.

In general it´s between 15-45 minutes.

It also depends, if there´s already a track up the ridge.

It´s easy to find the right way, even if it´s not tracked by others.

After a while you reach a first smaller peak, not the top of the mountain.

This is the entry for the line.

There are also some “gas-ex” ( large pipes used by ski patrol to trgiger avalanches) on the Roßkirpl, spot them from the chair and keep them in mind for better orientation.

(There are no trees for orientation.) The couloir-like line will lead you down the mountain but if you don´t want to ride in the couloir it´s possible to get out and ride down a more open off-piste slope (depending on the conditions).

The line is a couple of hundred meters long with some steeper parts.

The line ends in a wide field on top of the Giggijochlift.

For avalanche safety they built an avalanche protection for the top station so take care! The line ends in the middle of the Funslope of Sölden.
