Description

This line starts on the top of the Roßkirpel, the mountain on top of Giggijoch.

The view from the top is astonishing, and the hike up to top is definitely worth it.

Depending on your fitness and the circumstances, the hike will take about 20-60 minutes.

The range of times is quite wide because skins are not necessary but it's quicker if you have them. From top of the mountain you can spot your line.

The “gas-ex” ( a large pipe which ski patrol use to trigger avalanches) in the middle of the mountain slope is a good point for orientation.

The field is quite open and there are no big cliffs but be careful of avalanches, which are the biggest danger for this line. Keep riding on the right side - the snow there is the best.

The rocky ridge on the right side saves the snow from direct sun.

Beside this nice aspect the ridge also leads you down to the end of the line, the natural avalanche protection for the top station of Giggijochbahn.

If you don´t want to ride down on the right side you can also ride between the small cliffs.

But always keep riding on the right side of the “gas-ex” because the chance of hidden rocks is bigger in the middle of the face of Roßkirpel. The line is not very difficult, it is a smooth big mountain off piste slope.

The good thing is that it is normally not that tracked because many people are too lazy for the hike.

Hike it up end up with a smile in your face but always check the avalanche danger, because if it the snow is not settled, big avalanches are possible.
