Description

i-5 is a long, narrow trail that returns to the Base Area.

Sometimes called the Buff Trail or the Ho Chi Minh Trail, I-5 is a necessary evil.

Without this bumpy, challenging whoopty-do of a trail, returning to the Base Area after skiing some of Crystal's best terrain would be significantly more difficult.

If you're a snowboarder, think ahead before jumping on I-5.

It's a long time to traverse on one edge, and most likely you will end up unstrapping at some point.

Alternately hit Lower Employee Housing and catch the parking lot shuttle at E Lot.

I-5 starts at "5 Corners" in Northway.

At first it is wide but cross fall-line.

Usually one or two well-beaten trails form along this undulating section.

Below a rocky face, just as Lower Employee Housing falls off to the left, I-5 enters the woods and becomes the width of a hiking trail.

This is the section most challenging for snowboarders.

Follow this flat trail, with some uphill sections to the Base Area.
