Following the boat cruise from Te Anau Downs (1 hour 15 minutes), you walk through beech forest along the banks of the Clinton River to Clinton Hut, where you spend the first night.
Closer to Clinton Hut, there is a sidetrack that leads to a wetland boardwalk.
Allow around 15 minutes for the trip.
