Description

One of the best things to do is start at Northstar, take the trail all the way to the lake, rest on a bench by the water and then return to the bike park area.

Overall, the trail is a mixture of medium to hard climbs with long stretches of flat fire road and some mellow downhill sections mixed in.

That is the portion of the trail that goes south into the Lake Tahoe.

If you get to Fibreboard Freeway and head west, you can take the trail to the summit of Mt.

Pluto, which is the summit of Northstar California Resort.

If you choose to do this route, be ready for long sustained periods of climbing.

It's a tough route but the views are worth the work you will put in., not to mention, you'll be able to see a portion of the mountain not a great number of people get to see during the summer months.

Once at the summit, you have a few options on how you can return to the base of the bike park.

Options: Fibreboard Freeway, Mountain View, Tahoe Rim Trail, Pluto, Monument, East Ridge.
