Description

The Amphitheatre provides around 150 metres of steep skiing, and holds the snow incredibly well, with the line being skiable until November in average years.

From the top of Twynam, head due south with the rocks of Stag Gully prominent to your right.

In the Amphitheatre you can truly pick your line and let it rip, with a rare safe run out onto Blue Lake at the bottom, but of course take care late in the season when the ice begins to melt.

In deep winter this area can produce some significant slides and cornices, so take the time to scope the lines above you before dropping in.

The best return is to head straight up centre gully and back up to Twynam.

Early in the season take care of the rocks and stay in the centre of the snow loaded chutes.
