Description

With 400+ metres of vertical from Townsend's Shoulder, and down to Lake Albina, this gullied run might just make your day.

With slightly less vertical than it's northerly brother, this Racecourse run drops down through the obvious gully a few hundred metres directly east of the Townsend summit.

Make sure you assess the snow conditions and avalanche potential before heading out, this is one which might totally take you off guard.

The runs drop steeply through large granite outcrops, which often are corniced, for the first 150 metres, before mellowing out and following the drainage pattern down to the lake.

In deep season the lake is completely covered, but always be cautious of it, this is somewhere you don't want to swim.

Pick your line carefully after negotiating the rocks up high, and let her rip.

This along with it's brother, are runs which will make your day.

The easiest return is marked as Lady Northcote return on the map.
