Description

Dropping off from the saddle between Tenison Woods Knoll and Twynam, this fantastic bowl can harbour fresh snow from the high winds which scour the unprotected knolls and ridges, with a lot ending up into this bowl.

You can follow the creek line which is straight for the first kilometre, then it kinks around and when uncovered by the spring sun or earlier in the season, you will need to negotiate this.

You can either ski the creek line, or peel off early to take slightly steeper lines which funnel down into the creek later on, depending on snow conditions.

A steeper alternative is to drop into this bowl closer to Twynam, before dropping down to Watsons Creek, yet this area is far more rocky, so it might be a good idea to scout it from lower down first.

Once the creek opens up, it is best to traverse a little from the Twynam side of the valley, as the slopes typically hold the snow well.

Skinning back up alongside Watsons Creek is the best bet for the return trip.
