Paradise Chutes are some of the most obvious and most fun lines on the mountain.
When you look up at Lincoln Peak and The Church from the parking lot, you’ll see multiple big white streaks down the face of the mountain.
These almost look like trails from far away.
The average expert skier can’t help but want to explore this area.
Take the Heavens Gate lift to Lincoln Peak and ski down to Paradise.
After the first 100 feet, the trail makes a sharp turn down the fall line.
There is an obvious entrance into the woods, enter here and start traversing across the ridge.
Within the first 15-25 feet you should see an entrance to a lower traverse, this goes below the ridge and down to the Paradise Chutes.
This traverse has a few tight sections that may require sidestepping if they are bare.
As you traverse across you’ll start to see open chutes below you, each one is about 6-8 feet wide.
Continue traversing along to your desired drop in point.
The chutes are tight and steep at the top but with very few obstacles in your way, you can ride the fall line or pick your way down slowly depending on your level of confidence.
After the first hundred feet the pitch mellows out and the chute merge into one big, wide glade.
Swinging turns through this open section never gets old.
After this you can traverse out to Paradise or ski the glades all the way to Bailout.
Paradise Chutes is an area you can spend many days exploring.
If you’re an expert skier who likes exploring the glades and chutes, this is a place you’ll enjoy.
