Description

Wooded areas are like normal pistes but they are managed differently.

At Sugarbush, wooded areas are patrolled and maintained by the resort and are put on the map like normal trails.

But they are not opened or closed, the skier decides if it is skiable.

This means wooded areas may have unmarked obstacles and snow conditions may be variable without warning.

Skiers need to be prepared for anything when entering.

Big Birch was one of many small glades recently added to the trail map in 2015.

Big Birch is a short patch of hardwood glades located right below Heaven’s Gate Traverse.

These woods are a little tighter then Ruffed Up, but not quite as steep.

These woods can be bushy in early season.

They’re not really anything special on there own, but they go great in combination with Lew’s Line/Ruffed Up.

Big Birch ends on Lower Downspout.
