Description

Great views, great camping, and some awesome hiking, You start out at the Pinchin TH and head down into the gorge while enjoying views of Lake James and Shortoff in the diwstance.

After a steep climb down, you follow the LGT along the river (this is a rough and relatively unmarked trail).

There are great camping opportunities along the river as well as frequent water sources.

For the ascent you'll take Conley Cove trail up out of the Gorge.

Lost Dog Campsite is excellent camping with epic views before you take the Rock Jock trail back towards Kistler highway and a short road walk to bring you back to the Pinchin trailhead.

Be sure and take a map (and preferably the Avenza map.

Much of the trail is rough and oftentimes poorly marked - it is very easy to get off trail.
