Description

From the Fedarola junction, walk uphill following the immaculately prepared path, with signs for the mountain lodge Rifugio Dibona.

After about 15 minutes you will reach the mountain hut Malghe di Fedarola, rejoining the skiing piste that leads to Pocol (walkers leaving from the Baita Resch mountain hut will have climbed this piste).

From here, continue on the same track that will bring you to the Rifugio Dibona mountain lodge, enjoying evocative views of the mountains Tofana di Rozes, Croda da Lago and the Lastoi de Formin group.

The mountain lodge, originally built during the First World War and later dedicated to the famous mountain guide Angelo Dibona, has a large panoramic terrace and excellent cuisine.

Don’t miss the casunziei, the tagliolini with blueberries, mascarpone cream cheese and speck cured beef, and the apple strudel. For the return trip, follow the same route back. The route has no specific difficulties, except for those due to the distance, the total ascent and the variable conditions of the snow cover.

It is always advisable to seek assistance from mountain guides and to check snow and weather conditions before any trip. How to reach the starting point By car: From the centre of Cortina, take the road towards the Falzarego Pass.

After driving past the restaurant “La Locanda del Cantoniere” and the small Vervei church that you meet just after, leave the car at the junction for the Malghe di Fedarola mountain hut, where you will see signs for the mountain lodge Rifugio Dibona.

Alternatively you can start the hike from the car park near the mountain restaurant “Baita Resch”, a little further back on the road, walking uphill on the ski pistes. By bus: From the centre of Cortina, take the bus towards the Falzarego Pass, requesting a stop at the Fedarola junction in order to reach the mountain lodge Rifugio Dibona.
