Description

Beginning at Thumersbach village square, behind the kindergarten you will find the start of the trail.

It brings you immediately into the forest along the Thumersbach Kammweg and forest path.

You climb up through a series of switchbacks before you eventually emerge at the Erlhofplatte.

You then descend to the Enzianhütte, which is a great place to sample traditional Austrian mountain food, local beer, and take in the view of Lake Zell.

From there it is only a short burst of downhill back to your starting point at the village square.

If you are hiking on a sunny summer day and want to end your hike with a swim, we recommend that you go down to the Thumersbach Lido.

It is a very relaxed and well kept waterfront, less crowded and prettier than neighbouring Zell am See.
