Upper Salmon Lake provides an idyllic spot for an afternoon swim or paddle in the Lakes Basin area.

In contrast to the larger Gold Lake, Upper Salmon Lake doesn't allow any motorized watercraft, making it more friendly for paddleboarding and kayaking.

In addition, the islands in the lake make for interesting features to paddle around! Once out on the water, you'll be stunned by the soaring granite mountainsides towering above the lake! Be sure to bring your camera (in a waterproof case!) to snap some photos of the unbelievable scenery.
