Description

The Schwarzsee is tranquil, huge, and beautiful.

On a sunny summer's day when you would prefer to swim rather than hike in the surrounding mountains, this short walk around Schwarzsee is a wonderful option.

The way out of Kitzbühel from the train station takes you first through the town's beautiful medieval centre with its ornately decorated buildings.

When you reach the church you will be directed along the main road.

This stretch of the route is not so pleasant, as you are in the constant company of cars.

However, as soon as the lake is in sight, the feeling of tranquillity is reestablished.

Walking around the whole late will give you many opportunities to swim, stop for ice cream, or just bask in the sun.

For a small fee, you can enter the Schwarzsee lido where there are changing room facilities and boats for rental.

When you are finished relaxing, turn back the way you came in the direction of Kitzbühel.
