Description

I rode this couloir for the Shapes film, and it's one of the more amazing runs to be had in Lyngen.

Either borrow a boat from locals, or do the long approach by the fjord to get to the foot of the mountain.

From there on it's a straight forward bootpack up a long couloir that gets progressively steeper and more narrow towards the top.

From the top you can take the normal route down, or ride the "De Le Rue" entrance, pioneered by Xavier De Le Rue.

This is skiers right of the the normal entrance, and you have to climb over a narrow ridge to access it.

This entrance is very steep, and the choke is extremely narrow (I hit my hand against the wall going through it), basically sending you in a straight line into the main couloir, which luckily is wider and less steep so you can regain control and enjoy the ride to the fjord.

10/10 would recommend.
