The cool thing about Store Vaggastind is that there is snow in the couloirs all year, so when the first snow falls in autumn you can go right here and have a good time.

The approach is long, but if you spend the night in the cabin at the foot of the mountains that really helps.

Book your stay at the local Joker store in Nord-Lenangen. The easternmost of the two north facing couloirs is wider and easier to ride, but has the added hazard of a cerac hanging over the lower part of the couloir.

If you stick to the lookers right as you bootpack up this part you'll run a lower risk of getting it on your head.

The upper part is quite steep, but the couloir mellows out as you get to the bottom.

Beware of your sluff.
