Description

A rather easy hike, going from Kolbeinsfjara (65°32.16-over Brúnavíkurskarð pass to the refuge hut at Brúnavík inlet (65°31.61-13°41.24).

Though some parts of the way down to the inlet are fairly steep, this former main route to Brúnavík is a clear, time-worn trail through grassy and gravelly terrain.

This trail is the most popular trail in Viknaslodir and very good for guests that want to take a full day hike from Borgarfjörður.

You hike after marked trails 19 and 20 on Víknaslóðir Hiking Map for an excellent circuit. Of respect of the landowner, we ask people not to stake a shortcut on the trail through the land Hofströnd on the way back, stay on the marked trail.

Brúnavík is green and colorful, the beach is unique and it is recommended to take a good time exploring and relaxing. More info: https://www.borgarfjordureystri.is
