Description

If you want to enjoy stunning sequoias but escape the crowds around the General Grant Tree, head to this more remote grove of sequoias known as "Redwood Mountain." Here, you'll have "the opportunity to visit one of the largest sequoia groves in Sequoia-Kings Canyon National Park in relative solitude," according to [hikingwalking.com](http://www.hikingwalking.com/index.php/destinations/ca/ca_sws/lodgepole/redwood_canyon).

The grove is particularly dense, with a healthy mix of mature trees and juveniles alike.

However, two of the top trees to pick out are the Hart Tree and the Fallen Goliath Tree.

The Hart Tree might only be the 24th largest sequoia in the world, but it's still absolutely massive! The trail itself is mostly smooth and climbs and descends achievable grades.

Throughout this 10-mile hike, you'll climb and descend 2,280 vertical feet, according to FATMAP. Whether you tackle this route as a healthy day hike or break it up into a mellow overnight backpacking trip, the solitude of this incredible grove of sequoias is guaranteed to be the experience of a lifetime!
