Description

28km loop with many single-trails and great views of the castle "Burg Hohenzollern" and down from the Swabian Alb. Starting below the "Burg Hohenzollern" at the hiking parking lot in the center of the village "Zimmern" you go up to "Burg Hohenzollern", then to "Zeller Horn" via "Maria Zell" and "Hechinger Skihütte" from where you have a postcard view of the castle.

After descending you climb up for the first time to the Swabian Alb reaching the "Zollerhof" from where you run along the scenic edge of the Swabian Alb called "Albtrauf".

At the "Blasenberg" you descend to "Ebersberg" above the village Thanheim.

When exiting the forest you go left and shortly thereafter climb up a nice single trail to Heiligenkopf.

After crossing the road "Stichstraße" you quickly enter the forest again and go up a short climb to "Irrenberg".

Again running along and looking down the "Albtrauf" you reach the peak "Hundsrücken" from where you decent to Thanheim.

Then it is just a few kilometers to go until you reach the starting point again.
