Description

For a short ride near Applegate Lake with a fun downhill, head toward Sinns Bar. The ride as mapped begins from the classic Applegate Lake Trailhead and follows the Applegate Lake Trail to the junction with Sinns Bar.

From there, it's time to climb! Sinns Bar provides a short, steep, but attainable climb to the top of a small mountain above the lake.

The trail is nontechnical and should be climbable, fitness depending. Once on top, you have a few different options for dropping back down to the lake.

The route mapped here descends the Calsh Trail, which offers a fast, flowy rip down beautiful singletrack, heading back towards the Applegate Lake Trailhead. For an alternative (and easier) climb, consider pedaling up the pavement on Road 1075.

Once at the upper trailhead, you can choose any number of descent options, including Calsh, Sinns Bar, and the Osprey trail.
