From the Hoadlhaus restaurant (2340 metres), ski south down the Olympia Abfahrt Damen piste for 1 minute to reach the HoadlSattel col (2264 metres), where the piste bends sharply to the left.
Turn right and drop into the wide, open face which looks down on the wild valley that the Kemater Alm lies in.
The face is 600 metres high and open at the top but becomes increasingly dense with first small trees and then larger ones.
It can be skied just about anywhere but skiing the fall line from the Hoadlsattel is the simplest option.
To the left of the fall line are some steep (40 -45 degree) gullies, and to the right are more open slopes.
Whichever option you choose, bear in mind that the slope is the perfect angle for avalanche so only ski here when conditions are right, and you're confident that the slope is safe.
Also be aware that the only simple way off the face is in the fall line from the col, or just skier's right of it.
Further skier's right of this are thick trees, and to the left there are more rocks, so whichever line you have skied, come back to the fall line once you get close to the beginning of the larger trees.
Ski past the trees then, upon reaching the lower angle terrain below them, turn right and bounce along some fun, very low angle ground for a couple of minutes to reach the Kemater Alm (1673 metres).
The Alm serves a selection of hearty Tirolian food and a good selection of beverages.
From the hut, ski down the jeep track for 9 kilometres to reach the village of Grinzens, from where you can catch a bus to Axams, then back up to Axamer Lizum.
Hiking up to the hut dragging a sledge and then sledging down is popular with the locals so control your speed on the jeep track and be prepared to stop at all times.
Bear in mind that the buses from Axams to Axamer Lizum stop at 4.30pm (ish) so if you're planning on doing this run at the end of the day, the best way to do it is drive to Axams at the start of the day then catch the bus from there to Axamer Lizum.
When you've skied this route, get the bus from Grinzens back to your car in Axams.
