Description

This is one the most popular ski touring mountains in the Romsdalen area and it's the pearl of Skorgedalen.

It offers great skiing in moderate terrain and a fantastic view! Due to its popularity it is often crowded by the locals in the weekends. Start from the parking lot with in Skorgedalen.

Go 100 meters to the north and cross a bridge over Skorgedalselva.

Follow the ski tracks on the east side of Fuglehaugen through an area with cabins.

Leave the ski tracks and head towards the open area in the woods on the east side of the river from Smørbotnen. Above the tree line, climb steadily on the east side of the bowl.

You can either go via the col between the two highest peaks or go right and head straight up to the easternmost summit.

The last section to the summit is usually a bit rocky and scoured by the wind. The normal way to descend this mountain is by following the ascent route.

The bowl below the summit often holds good snow because it's protected from the wind.

Here you can enjoy big turns and playful terrain as you enter the woods further down.

Enjoy the beautiful skiing! It is also possible to descend the south face of the mountain.

Follow the south ridge from the summit until the south face opens up.

This descent is up to 40 degrees steep, so make sure to consider the avalanche risk before descending this route.

You will end up in Ljøsådalen and ski tracks you bring you back to the parking lot in Skorgedalen.
