Description

Mariana Couloir is one of the steeper couloirs in the Pacific Peak area.

Terrain and slope-wise, it is very similar to the first and second Hawaiian Couloirs, but is slightly more narrow and also has a much more narrow and rocky entrance.

On a good snow day, Mariana has a very narrow and steep entrance surrounded by some large rocks.

The entrance slope is about 50-55º and has a mandatory hop turn around a rock..

The rest of the couloir is not as bad, it is a consistent 50º slope with about 20 feet of room between cliffs.

Take this route slow and remember to check the avalanche forecast, this slope will slide very easlily.

You access it the same way as the Hawaiian Couloirs.
