Description

Alamo Couloir is located directly above the more well-known, Hourglass Couloir, and directly next to the Granite Couloir.

From the summit, you ski a little bit down the ridge to the ski patrol shack, and from there you traverse to the sketchy couloir entrance.

Looking in, there are two couloirs.

To the left is Granite, and to the right is Alamo.

Alamo has a slightly easier entrance than Granite because you can traverse in from the side instead of the mandatory hop turn on Granite.

It funnels down into the lower Hourglass at the end of the couloir.

It is very dangerous early season, but on powder days it is definitely one to check out.
