Description

Rip's Face is a very fun and mellow glade near the base of Rip's Ridge at the Sun Peak chair.

Rip's has a high avalanche danger and is not commonly patrolled like in resort terrain.

Make sure to have your gear and a partner before skiing it.

I also suggest checking out with patrol before skiing to make sure they write your name down and to make sure you are in the clear.

If you find yourself in that situation, Rip's Face is not far from the resort boundary and the Sun Peak ski patrol shack, thus it is a lot more likely you will be saved.
