Description

The south ridge walk along Observation Sub Peak is somewhat exposing.

We opted to short rope.

So, if you decide to attempt this one, it might be wise to bring a short rope and a harness.

If you are doing this route, you likely want to grab some turns on the Observation Sub Peak North Glacier, so bring your glacier gear.

On the way back to the Observation Sub Peak/Cirque Peak drainage, there is some potential turns off the east sub peak if you were to climb it and descent SE towards the drainage.

The snow wasn't very good when we did this route, so we decided to just traverse it and make this outing a true hike-a-ski with very few turns.

I imagine there are better spots to ski for turn than this one, as it seems to get pretty wind hammered...

But maybe I am wrong.

We did it for the adventure, not for the turns.
