Mother In Law is the longest run in Great Gulf, and likely the easiest option in Great Gulf.
It roughly follows the path of the Great Gulf Trail from the top of the headwall, all the way to the floor.
If not for Mount Washington's reliable NW wind, Mother In Law would be a bonafide classic.
In rare years, this is an amazing bowl run.
Unfortunately, this line is often in thin condition, involving picking your way through scree, interrupting what would be good turns.
From the top of the headwall, make some initial steep turns into the Great Gulf.
Negotiate a section of scree below Carousel and Junebug Gullies, eventually gaining access to more open turns.
Ski down to the flats, then boot up Airplane Gully for the most straightforward exit.
Be aware this is a remote area with no realistic exit out the bottom.
So much as punching through a shallow spot and hurting yourself on a rock could lead to a complicated rescue.
