Description

This trail follows the river Sihl, going upstream on the left and turning back on the other side of the river.

The trail starts at the parking lot at the Sihbruggstrasse on a hiking trail and changes surface throughout the trail, mainly gravel and single trails.

It becomes more technical as the path is turning into a single trail in the forest.

You need to cross the Sihl river 2 times, shortly after the start and at halfway.

The upstream is almost flat while on the way back you need to climb some altitude before the end.

It offers several treats along the way.

There are numerous streams joining the the Sihl along the way.

The first one is a larger spring that joins the Sihl before you reach the first bridge.

The stream rushes trough the rocks and dropping downhill before entering the Sihl.

it worth stopping for a few minutes to marvel the beauty of this spot.

The other spot worth stopping is the second crossing of the river.

Where the huge rock boulders dotting the riverbed, it is a truly special view.

Once you cross the bridge, you will see a tunnel, running through the hill, it is a frightening thought for most of us to enter but it is only optional.

You can continue your way following the Sihl on the right hand side on the hillside.

The navigation is fairly straightforward, you only need to to pay attention to stay close to the Sihl and don’t detour. There is a shorter version turning back on the Woden bridge at Sennweid after 2.2km making it only 4.5km long run.
