All the way up from the city to Arzler Alm - where the single trail starts.

FATMAP difficulty grade

One of the best assets of Innsbruck is that - starting from the city center - you can access the Nordkette mountain chain and its activities in no time. With this route, you'll start from the city center and ride through the streets of the city, then through some magical forest roads.

You will climb all the way up to Arzler Alm, where you can have a rest enjoying some good food and the view before dropping into the longest single trail around Innsbruck.

In spring, the magical shade of colors will steal your attention: from the colorful buildings of the city, to the white snowy peaks, going through different shades of green by the elevation. The silence in the forest while climbing up will take you away from the chaos of the city - even though it is only few hundred meters away.

While climbing, you can either admire the mountains on the opposite side of Nordkette as Serles, Patscherkofel, Nockspitze, or - when crossing one of the couloirs where the vegetation is poor - you can see all the way up to the peaks of Nordkette, where the Hafelekar cableway leads. The climb is never too steep, but requires a little bit more effort on the last section.

To avoid the first section of the climb - from the city to Hungerburg - you could either take the Hungerburgbahn or the J bus line towards Nordkette.

By doing this, you will skip the first couple of hundred vertical meters, and you will only have to climb the gravel road.
