Description

Jakes Rocks is a truly fantastic purpose-built mountain bike trail system that offers a trail for most every type of mountain biker.

The beginner loop on top of the mountain exemplifies this ideology, providing the perfect course for both kids and adults who are dipping their toes into the sport of mountain biking. This 4-mile loop has just 350 feet of climbing, but the climbs are so mellow and achievable that you'll barely notice that you're going uphill...

until the trail turns down.

The expertly-constructed machine-built flow will have everyone, from beginner to expert, grinning from ear to ear as they swoop and flow down the mild descents.

More advanced riders can even find side-hits just off the main track to log some air time, even on these green trails. While the trail tread is mostly smooth, there are a few rocks embedded in the trail surface that have been left behind to remind you that this is, still, a mountain bike trail.

While there's nothing radically difficult, some of the rougher, rocky patches will help beginners gain confidence on negotiating different types of trail surfaces and small rock gardens, which will allow them to progress their skills and work up to real challenges. In addition, this loop passes the best overlook from the top of Jakes Rocks, providing a stunning view of the reservoir and dam far, far below.

Combining fantastic machine-built trails with stunning views is a winning combination, and almost anybody you stick on a bike will undoubtedly have a blast riding this mellow loop at Jakes Rocks!
