Description

The Lookout Glade is a glade adjacent to Prosser on Northstar's Lookout Mountain.

It's a very long and arduous glade, but it's of similar difficulty to other Lookout Mountain Glades.

To get here, you must first take the Lookout Link Rope Tow and ski down a run to the bottom of Martis Camp Express.

Take the lift up and traverse lookers' right / skiers' left to the White Rabbit Gate and the start of Prosser.

Go past Prosser and enter the trees to skiers' left of it.

From this point on, you are in the Lookout Glade and you can ski as deep in as you want (till the boundary line).

Snow quality is very variable in these trees even though Lookout Mountain faces North.

Northstar's ultra-low elevation combined with California temperatures causes the snow to be pretty bad some days.

However, on powder days, this run can be an absolute blast to ski as it's seldom skied by guests since it's a little out of the way to get to.

The Sugar Pine Glade and Camp Glade are far more popular gladed options on Lookout Mountain.

Also, because this glade is located adjacent to possibly the steepest groomer on the mountain, it can probably be considered the most challenging marked glade run at Northstar.

The biggest challenge with the Lookout Glade is it's sheer length.

It's approximately a mile which can be an absolutely exhausting length for some visitors.

Be very careful about skiing these glades and make sure you go with a partner.

On a powder day, this can be a whole lot of fun as long as you take it slow and are skiing safely!
