Description

Devinci's Code is one of only two trails in the Angel Fire Bike Park located on the ridgeline far to skier's right.

The other trail, Angel's Plunge, features a short climb to reach it and runs a long ways down and along the ridge, while Devinci's Code takes a more direct plummet straight off the saddle, back down toward the chairlift. This trail provides a good transition from blue to black tech trails in the bike park.

While labeled as a tech trail, it features some berms and flow features mashed up with rock gardens, roots, and a few steep shots. The upper section of singletrack switchbacks back and forth across the steep side slope.

The benchcut singletrack flows beautifully, and small berms keep your tires planted in the sharp, exposed switchbacks.

If you can tear your eyes away from the trail, you'll enjoy some beautiful views of the resort far below you. After dropping off the sidehill, the singletrack plummets into a narrow creek valley.

This section has a few steep pitches, including a steep bridge roll over a rushing mountain stream.

While this section is definitely more difficult than the upper reaches of the trail (hence the useful progression from Intermediate to Advanced riding), this beautiful stretch of expertly-constructed singletrack is easily the highlight of Devinici's Code! After you pop out onto the service road (all too soon), you'll instantly be planning your next run down Devinici's Code.
