Description

Casa Blanca Volcano is part of the Antillanaca volcanic complex, a magical place, and this is a beautiful route with forests and amazing views of the surrounding volcanoes. Even though the ski resort area is a very popular place, as soon as you start walking you get into a remote natural environment.

This route is accessible for different levels of ski touring, as it does not require a very high technical level of skill - there are no glaciers and in spring the snow and weather are friendly.

The Casablanca is a volcano with good access where- in high winter season - and while the ski resort is in operation, it is possible to pay for a lift ticket and ascend the chairlifts. The route starts at the Antillanca ski resort and shortly after starting the climb a trail will appear to the right, so take it and immerse yourself in a typical native forest of lenga, coigüe and ñirre.

Follow the road until the vegetation ends where you will find another machinery road that will take you south towards the Rayhuén crater, which is marked with a wooden sign. Cross the crater in a north-east direction and then continue walking north.

You will reach flat terrain - continue ascending towards the north slope of the volcanic cone. At the top, the impressive Tronador Volcano and the Osorno, Puntiagudo and Puyehue volcanoes appear on the horizon as well as the lakes of Puyehue and Rupanco. From here enjoy a long descent to the resort, remembering that you will return to the flat area in the middle of the ride - at this point it is recommended to go up the slope to the right side and then go directly to the resort.
