Description

Big Bird is an easy uphill route that links with the tougher uphill Lost in the Woods.

Therefore you can use Big Bird as a return to Lost in the Woods if you've skied down from there.

However, Big Bird also makes a good workout on its own, especially for beginners or anyone wanting a quick burn. Starting from the bottom of Chair 7, the route goes uphill gently on Schoolyard, then a bit steeper on Way Home, before tipping downhill where you'll want to transition.

Switch back to uphill near the bottom of Chair 4, and climb gradually through the forest on Big Bird to join with Lost in the Woods.

You could keep going uphill from there, or return the way you came. Note that Mammoth requires an uphill pass for skinning and split boarding.

These can be purchased for the season or by the day.

See their [Uphill Access](https://www.mammothmountain.com/mountain/uphill-access) page for more information.
