Description

Sun Valley boasts a lot of vertical, no matter how you slice it.

For those who want to earn their turns on all of it, there are three designated uphill routes on Bald Mountain.

And if you want to get all 3400+ feet of vertical drop without any back slipping, River Run-Olympic Lane is the route to take.

It's the friendliest of the three, cruising up green runs all the way to the top. Even if you don't skin up on this route, however, you could use it for descent.

Sun Valley requires uphill users to descend by the same designated routes, so if you climb the main River Run uphill but aren't feeling the blue downhill, you could follow these greens instead. Sun Valley does not currently require a pass or armband for uphill travel, but access is permitted only outside of open hours, and subject to other restrictions for safety.

Review these policies and further information on the resort's [Mountain Safety](https://www.sunvalley.com/things-to-do/mountain-safety) webpage.
