Description

Sun Valley offers three uphill routes on Bald Mountain, all of which can be used to reach the panoramic summit.

This is the steeper of two the River Run side, making a fairly direct ascent from the base to the summit.

It's the best way to earn your turns on all 3400+ feet of the resort's vertical drop. It might be a typical morning workout for some, but skinning to the top of Bald Mountain is sure to feel like an achievement the first time you make it.

And the next reward is of course gliding all that vert back down to base.

Sun Valley does require uphillers to use the designated routes for descent, however, so you won't get free rein of the mountain from the top. No pass or armband is needed, but uphill travel is allowed only outside of open hours and subject to certain restrictions for safety.

Review these policies and further information on the resort's [Mountain Safety](https://www.sunvalley.com/things-to-do/mountain-safety/) webpage.
