Description

Sun Valley has three designated uphill routes on Bald Mountain, allowing skinning and split boarding outside of open hours.

That means you can start or end your day with 3000+ feet of hard-earned vertical on Idaho's most famous ski mountain.

This is the only route on the Warm Springs side.

It's a fairly efficient ascent on green and blue runs, all the way to the panoramic summit of "Baldy." Sun Valley does not require a pass or armband for uphill access, but certain restrictions apply in the interest of safety.

One main rule is that uphillers must stick to the designated routes for downhill as well.

This is to avoid interference with mountain operations like winching.

You might still encounter maintenance on the designated routes, which it's your responsibility to avoid.

Be sure to review the policies and find more info on the resort's [Mountain Safety](https://www.sunvalley.com/things-to-do/mountain-safety/) webpage.
