An enjoyable ski touring hike through the forest, where to enjoy the peace of nature. Leave your car at the car park of Cortina’s former swimming pool, and take the prepared track running alongside what used to be a skiing piste, and continue for about one and a half hours until you reach the mountain hut Rifugio Mietres.

You will be in the heart of the forest, in a wonderful mountain setting: Mount Pomagagnon rises impressively behind the distinctive mountain hut, while in front of you there is Mount Cristallo and on your right Faloria and Sorapis,while behind you there are the Tofane and the entire Ampezzo Valley.

On the mountain hut’s large terrace, drenched in sunshine right through to sunset, you can enjoy the immersive experience of a wooden hot tub and a Finnish sauna (both on prior booking). If you wish to reach the Rifugio Mietres mountain lodge sooner, you can start at the agriturismo El Brite de Larieto, following track 211 and reaching the mountain hut in just over half an hour. For the return, you can ski down along the same route. The time is for the entire itinerary. HOW TO REACH THE STARTING POINT By car: From the centre of Cortina d’Ampezzo, take the road towards Dobbiaco.

Before Hotel Trieste, turn right towards the Verocai, and after about 1 km, turn left towards the old Guargnè skilift.
